Fairground Fun

As the Jellies finished a successful day of presentations, cookouts and robot games practice, the weather in Worcester cleared for the festivities to begin!

Teams from all over the world gathered to eat, play and party at the fairground.  The sore feet and jet lag were soon forgotten, replaced by cotton candy and frisbee matches.

Good food was eaten, many jelly friends were made and the atmosphere was electric.

Robo Rehearsal

Today marked the first of five robot games for the Jelly Friends and what a start they made!

Taking it all in their stride, they came out with their highest score at competition-level to date!

Following that success, they went through to the team practice areas to tweak their code and mission focus, ahead of the main robot games tomorrow.

Touchdown!

After seven hours in the air, and another on the runway, the Jellies have made it to Boston. Many films were watched, and airplane meals were eaten, including scones with clotted cream and jam—obviously applied the Cornish way!

After a short bus ride, the Jellies made it to their accommodation for the next three nights, met up with Jelly Friend Matteo—who had travelled out before us—and quickly got ready for a meal at Applebee’s. You would never guess they had been awake for nearly 24 hours.

“The plane ride was very long, but the food was nice and I watched Frozen.” – Ezra

“I loved the mozzarella sticks at Applebees!” – Molly

Launching Operation Waffle!

Seven, sleepy Jellies made their way to Penpol School at 2am this morning, bags in hand and suitcases in tow, to launch Operation Waffle!

“The journey (from Cornwall) was very long, but as soon as we got to the airport it was like the movies. Everyone was just like they are in the movies, it was all calm and chill and I’m feeling pretty good about the plane and am excited to be here.” – Scarlett
