Remote Learning at Penpol School

Last updated at 12.30pm on Friday 9th July 2021

Welcome:

Welcome to the Remote Learning page. Here you will find links to useful sites, suggestions for additional home learning and our recent virtual assemblies.

If you are self-isolating, your teacher will support you each day via Showbie or Tapestry.

Should you need any support whatsoever, please get in touch. Thank you all!

Daily Learning:

Children will be provided with two main challenges each day. These challenges will be uploaded by class teachers to Showbie (KS1 and KS2) or Tapestry (EYFS) by 9.30am.  These are designed to be as independently accessible as possible to support those of you juggling multiple responsibilities at home. Supplementary activities and links will be provided, ensuring that children continue to access a broad and balanced curriculum.

Teachers will share videos with their class to model specific skills and strategies and regular Google Meet sessions will allow children to remain connected to their peers.

Teachers will continue to assess children’s learning, feeding back regularly and adjusting teaching accordingly.

The government have advised that primary aged children should be engaged with their learning for an average of three hours per day. This is a guide only and will depend very much upon the age and learning needs of your child.

If you require any support or additional resources at all, please do not hesitate to get in touch using the contact details below or on head@penpol.cornwall.sch.uk.

The Week Ahead:

This calendar shows regular events such as Assemblies, Class Discussions and Google Meet events. All timings are subject to change.
There will be other events during the week that are more spontaneous so please keep an eye on the Class News section in Showbie for details of those.

The Penpol Times:

Technical Support:

We completely understand that this closure and subsequent Remote Learning is a massive change and involves using digital learning in ways that may feel unfamiliar.  Both Mr Woolcock and Paul are on standby to offer help and support if required for all of the online aspects of our Remote Learning plan.

You can email them here or send a message to them on Showbie by joining the class code “7NHQM“.  You can also request a password reminder for any service your child uses by completing the form at the bottom of this page.

Please be aware that children will likely know most of their logins already. Please do check with them before sending a password reminder.
