Infant Star of the Week
Class 2 – Reception –Â JowanÂ
The overall infant star of the week is Jowan. Jowan is a great member of Class 2 and has been making brilliant progress in his phonics and maths work. He has been working very hard on his letter formation and always joins in when we are practising our sounds and phonics actions. Jowan is a very kind and helpful member of Class 2 and is always willing to help both the adults and the other children in the class. Well-done Jowan!Â

Junior Star of the Week
Class 14- Year 6 – George
The overall Junior Star of the Week is George McCallum from Class 14. This week has seen a fantastic improvement in his maths. George has been working extremely hard at home, in class and at homework club to improve his maths and is really beginning to shine in the subject. He is a fantastic example to everyone that anything is possible with hard work and commitment. Well-done George.

Class 1 – Reception – Nicolas
Class 1’s star of the week goes to Nicolas. He has increased is making a great effort with his work and is trying really hard when practising his letters sounds. Nicholas listens to instructions well and gets on with his work quickly. Well done Nicolas, keep up the great effort.

Class 3 – Year 1 – Ethan
This weeks star pupil is Ethan in class 3. He is following all the rules for learning and is excelling in all subjects. He knows all his 2D and 3D shapes and can explain the differences. He is confident using the computer and programming a toy to follow instructions. He enjoyed counting £100 in real money and is able to pay for his fruit correctly up to 20p. His reading is improving daily as he keeps practising without prompting and his handwriting is neat and on the line. It is a pleasure having Ethan in class, as he is always helpful and kind to his friends. Well-done Ethan.

Class 5 – Year 2 – Maison
Class 5 star of the week is Maison.Â
Maison is new to Class 5 and has only been here for a couple of weeks. He has settled in really well, as starting a new school, meeting other children and getting to know the children and teachers of his class and Penpol school must be rather daunting and even scary! He is trying really hard with his work and loves getting tokens and stamps for his efforts. Well done Maison, its lovely to have you in Class 5, keep trying hard and you will do great things!

Class 7 – Year 3 – Samuel
Samuel has a great work ethic and often works hard to compete a given task. Samuel is a lively sensitive young man who is quite creative and also is popular with his peers. Samuel will always put effort into his work and is trying very hard to improve his handwriting skills, so very well done Samuel.

Class 9 – Year 4 – Rocky
Rocky is an enthusiastic and cheerful member of Class 9. He always has a smile on his face and comes to school ready and willing to learn. We have really enjoyed seeing all the extra school work he does at home, so far this term, he has brought in: a project on Italy, a Roman shield and a wand to mention but a few. Ronnie has also worked really hard with his regular homework and because of that he is doing particularly well in Three Minute Maths and spelling. He has also been elected Year 4 School Councillor for this year. Well-done Rocky

Class 11- Year 5 – Frida
This week’s star from Class 11 is Frida. Frida is a pleasure to have in class. She has combined excellent work in Literacy and Topic this last week to produce a wonderful diary extract from the perspective of herself living and working during the industrial revolution. Well-done Frida.
Mr Stanlake
Class 13 – Year 6 – Ben
Ben has shown that he has a real aptitude when it comes to maths and has been a great role model in this subject and is, quite literally, someone to beat when it comes to mental arithmetic questioning.Â
Ben also tries hard with his literacy and has made progress with this.
Added to all of this, he is just a nice chap with a good personality. Well-done Ben!
