WEEK COMMENCING – 27.04.2020

Hi Year 1,
We are missing you very much but know that your adults are doing a super job of looking after you and teaching you.
We hope you’re enjoying the home-learning tasks as much as we are enjoying receiving the photo’s and videos?!

Luke, from Class 4

Luke has had a packed few weeks! He has been growing seeds, exploring his local area complete with finding a rope swing and some stunning views! He has bee making so many amazing creations – like boats, targets, pasties and number blocks pictures. Keep up the super work Luke!

 

Thomas, from Class 3

Thomas has had another lovely week. He has been learning about plants and even potted his own sunflower.
He has being doing maths puzzles with his dad using numbers and beanbags and created his own picture using his favourite letter families. He has also been enjoying exercising on the beach and throwing the pebbles as far into the sea as he can.

Merryn, from Class 4

Merryn has been so busy this week! She has created self portraits, chatted to friends, built lego and practised riding her bike. Great work Merryn!

Keira, from Class 3

Keira has done some posters to  help us remember how to draw our letters. She’s had fun drawing these.

Arlo, from Class 3

I’m so impressed with Arlo’s plant fact file! Well done – beautifully written!

Reuben, from Class 4

Reuben has been super busy this past week! He has been exploring money, creating some super tie-dye t-shirts and using M&Ms to create tally charts. Great work Reuben!

Matteo, from Class 4

Matteo has been working on his days of the week, maths, phonics and reading. He also made a blueberry smoothie – it looks very tasty! Well done Matteo!

 

Keira, from Class 3

Keira loved measuring and mixing the recipe for Homemade giant bubbles!

 

James, from Class 3

James had lots of fun making a tally chart with Skittles and filling in the missing letters on the Days of the Week. He can also sing the days of the week song to the Adams Family tune!

James loves dinosaurs so he has made lots of pictures of dinosaurs having fun playing football, on the beach and having a picnic!

Miles decided what he wanted to buy with the coins in his money jar!
He was a super suffix detective and found a whole page worth! Well done Miles

Arthur, from Class 3

Arthur has really bounced into learning this week… he has researched plants with some bitesize videos, talked about his own house plants and the flowers his family pick and then wrote about what plants need to survive! He’s also expanded on his space project…can’t wait for Arthur to teach class 3 all he knows about space!

Jowan, from Class 4

Jowan has been creating his dream garden! It looks beautiful, Jowan – look at all those colours!

Joseph, from Class 4

Joseph has created a brilliant treasure map, I wonder what treasure is buried at the X?! Joseph also has been working hard to master riding his bike – Amazing work!!

Great to see you and your brother playing so beautifully and very impressive that you were teaching him to make flapjacks! Well done!

Lowenna has been practising the days of the week and recognising her numbers whilst playing Bingo! She also had great fun planting and creating a fairy garden!

I love tracing around my hands to make number bond support tools… I’m glad Betty enjoyed it too!

 

Thomas, from Class 3

Thomas has had a great week. As part of his daily exercise he went on a “Bear Hunt” to find sticks to build a raft, which didn’t sink.
Thomas has also been enjoying learning about the days of the week and doing doing bonds.

 

Miles, from Class 3

Today was ‘Cornish Day’ at Miles’ house! He didn’t need any help knowing how to draw this flag!

Miles thought today’s maths was the most fun so far! I loved the video of Miles eating a sweet, then drawing a tally for it! 🙂

 

Toran, from Class 3

Super unscrambling days of the week and works on Tally’s, bar charts and pictograms. Well done Toran!

Elliott, from Class 3

Elliott has been enjoying using a rainbow to support learning his number bonds as well as learning to spell and order the days of the week. Great to see mum and Elliott making use of the ‘Vipers’ questions when reading ‘The Scrap Rocket’. They are really helpful aren’t they?! It’s also nice to  see Hugo and Elliott having such fun together on the beach!

Arlo, from Class 3

Arlo has been busy this week completing maths sheets: dividing in halves and recognising halves, watching the phonics on you tube using the ‘r’ sound, writing a diary of what he has done each day, practising reading and writing red words and reading books through the Owl. Phew… what a busy week Arlo! Well done.

 

Ebbie, from Class 3

Ebbie wrote some super instructions when she helped Daddy with planting seeds! She has also been practising ‘groups of’ to find multiples of 5. Well done!

Miles enjoying the RWI lessons this morning and having fun unscrambling days of the week!

Merryn, from Class 4

Merryn has been having lots of fun at home. She has walked to the beach, done lots of baking, re-enacted fairytales with her teddy bears, carried out some amazing science experiments, played with her Lego and learnt her times tables. Wow Merryn!

Toran , from Class 3

Great to see Toran using practical resources to solve the maths problem – I have a number between 20 and 30. It must be in the 5 times table. What must the number be?

Elliott, from Class 3

Elliott has been using the past phonics screening checks to practise reading both real and nonsense words. He’s also been practising ordering and writing the days of the week.

Beau, from Class 4

Beau has been really busy at home! He has been practising his times tables and writing a review of a film he watched. Well done Beau!

 

Miles, from Class 3

Miles decided to do some ‘worksheet’ style learning today linking to our daily challenges.
He’s also chosen and planned his next experiment – Miles has been enjoying the kitchen science challenges I sent him!

James, from Class 3

James has been learning how to tell the time! He has also been using his time to do lots of reading, phonics and puzzles! Well done James!

This weekend and today we did a mixture of activities….We melted old unwanted crayons and made them into planet earth crayons.

Ebbie, from Class 3

The days of the week were hidden around the house. Ebbie had to find them, read them and put them into order. Then she wanted to write the words herself. We practiced which ways b and d face. She also spotted the ay sound that we have practiced before.

 

Reuben, Class 4

Reuben has been working really hard at his phonics whilst at home – inside and outside! Well done Reuben!

Joseph, Class 4

Joseph has been busy in his garden this last week. He has been painting, planting and bug spotting – great work Joseph!

 

Olivia, from Class 3

Olivia wrote a lovely letter to Scarlett which beautiful handwriting and great use of question marks. She’s also being exploring multiplication through ‘groups of’ and repeated addition. Well done Olivia.

Thomas, from Class 3

I have had a nice week at home and have been enjoying, writing, maths and reading. I have started writing the days of the week and months of the year using my phonic cards to learn how to write each letter.

I have also been reading Jack and the Beanstalk. Mummy and I have planted our own beans to see if they will grow. I also had great fun making my own Giant’s castle and learning about the 2D shapes that we used to build it.
