Infant Star of the Week

Class 6 – Year 2 – Monica

The overall KS1 star of the week is Monica from Class 6. Monica is a very polite, friendly and caring young lady who always offers to help her friends and help out around the classroom. This term Monica has shown great determination and perseverance during the maths lessons and is now demonstrating that she has the confidence to face new and difficult challenges with a positive attitude. Monica is also a very good listener and is always keen to participate in classroom discussions, especially when predicting story endings. Well-done Monica, you are an excellent role model to your peers.

Mrs Ruffell

Junior Star of the Week

Class 8 – Year 3 – Scott

I am delighted to award the overall KS2 Star of the Week to Scott in Class 8.  Scott was the star pupil in class 8 last week and thoroughly deserves to receive this second accolade.  He has made outstanding progress in reading and spelling this term and is always conscientious and hard working. The most exciting thing about Scott’s progress is how much more confident he is to share his wonderful ideas with his teacher and friends during class discussions.  Scott has a talent for looking outside the box and producing creative ideas to solve problems.  He is always happy and helpful in class and it is so wonderful to see that he is recognising his many talents.  Well-done Scott, a very well deserved award.

Mrs Connors

Class Stars of the Week

Class 1 – Reception – Hana

Hana this week has been amazing during the rehearsals for our Christmas singsong. Even though she was in Poland last week for the main rehearsals she picked up the sings and danced really quickly. I am so impressed with the Hana’s progression with her writing and numbers. She is linking many sounds to letters and attempting to write words. She has also written some numbers this week in the correct sequence. Hana brightens up the classroom with her smile and enthusiasm. Well-done Hana.

Miss Aspden

Class 3 – Year 1 – Corben

This week’s star of the week is Corben in class 3. Corben is working very hard with his reading and moved up a level in the Biff and Chip books. His handwriting is improving and he is brave enough to spell many words for himself. He was an amazing king in our Christmas play saying his words clearly, and sang every word with enthusiasm in the classroom and at the church during the Christingle service.

Mrs Rodda

Class 5 – Year 2 – Josie

Class 5 Star of the week is Josie. Josie has written two lovely stories in the past week, based on well-known fables, ‘The ant and the grass hopper and the tortoise and the hare.’ Josie renamed her first story ‘The rabbit and the duck’ and her second ‘The cheater and the worm.’ The second story was totally independent and Josie used all the lovely language and punctuation we had been practising in class; – adjectives, adverbs connectives, exclamation marks and even speech marks, all correctly! Well-done Josie keep up the great work

Mrs Daniels

Class 7 – Year 3 – William

Star of the week for class 7 is William  for joining in class discussions, as well as being able to take part more in school life. William is making good progress in his literacy with some interesting ideas as well as a great understanding of math’s across the curriculum. Well-done William!

Mrs Jane

Class 9 – Year 4 – Harry

Harry has worked really hard this term both at home and at school. He always remembers his homework and this is reflected in the progress he has made in his work. He is currently one of our top ‘Speed Tablers.’ He not only works hard, he can also be relied upon to perform practical tasks and errands efficiently and without fuss. Well done Harry, keep up the good work.

Mrs Peck / Mrs Hamilton

Class 11 – Year 5 – Max

This week’s star of the week this week for class 11 is. Max has really begun to knuckle down and has shown real maturity over the last few weeks. He has started to do exceptionally well with his spellings and has started to take responsibility for his own work, including his homework. Keep it up mate.

Mr Stanlake

Class 13 – Year 6 – Darwynn

Darwynn, I have been very impressed with Darwynn’s efforts through the course of this year so far, and his confidence levels in a range of subjects have improved as a result. Also, this week in church Darwynn stood up and delivered his speech with aplomb, including tricky words, such as apparition. Mr Stanlake noted to me that this time last year he would not have stood up there to say his name, let alone a paragraph of speech, so it’s great to see himself pushing himself. Well-done Darwynn!
