Infant Star of the Week

Class 1 – Reception – Enya

Enya has been amazing this week. She has done some amazing singing during rehearsals for our Christmas singsong and performs amazingly as an excited sheep. Enya really listens well in class and is keen to join in and all class activities. Her literacy and Maths is very good and she is linking sounds to letters and writing many words. Her smile and enthusiasm brightens up the class every day. Super effort Enya Very well-done!

Junior Star of the Week

Class 11 – Year 5 – Kian

The overall star of the week award goes to Kian. Kian is am absolute whizz when it comes to mathematics. He is a phenomenally hard worker and this has showed over the last couple of months where he has continued to flourish in class. He has been undertaking some really difficult work of late with an exceptional amount of effort in solving complex problems. What is most impressive is Kian’s ability to find things out for himself, using trial and error to find ways past hurdles that he has to overcome. The confidence he displays in maths is very high and his contribution to the class is very greatly appreciated. Well done, Kian. Keep it up!

Class Stars of the Week

Class 2 – Reception – Lottie

Class 2’s star of the week is Lottie.  Lottie has been working very hard this week both in school and at home, bringing in lots of phonics work that she did when she was off poorly! She made a beautiful table decoration and has been practising using Doozla to create a picture of some Christmas presents. She is always keen to help other children in class and always has her hand up to answer a question. Well done Lottie, you are a well-deserved star of the week!

Miss Nidds

Class 4 – Year 1 – Alfie

A huge congratulations to Alfie, Class 4 Star of the Week. Alfie has had a great week and he has been working very hard indeed. He has produced some beautiful Christmas writing and amazing art work, showing that he has great creativity. Alfie is a very sensible and reliable member of Class 4 and always follows instructions first time. Thank you Alfie. You are a star!

Class 6 – Year 2 – Emily

The star of the week in Class 6 is Emily. This week Emily has used her great imagination to plan and write her own fable that included the proverb ‘Better late than never’. She then went on to write her story out in beautiful handwriting and demonstrated that she had the skills to read her story aloud, with expression, to the class. (A skill that she also demonstrated during the Year 2 Christmas production.) Well Done Emily, you have an ‘outstanding’ speaking voice.

Class 8 – Year 3 – Scott

Star of the Week for Class 8 goes to the multi-talented Scott!  Scott works incredibly hard in all areas of the curriculum and earned two golden tickets last week for writing and maths.  This week, he has tackled some really difficult maths and grammar work and has performed brilliantly in his school day, as he always does.  Scott is the sort of pupil who could be pupil of the week every week, as he is such a talented and dedicated pupil.  So, well done Scott.  A well deserved award.

Mrs Conners

Class 10 – Year 4 – Isaac

I am delighted to give this week’s star of the week to Isaac! He has deserved this for a long time but over the past few weeks Isaac has really shown a great attitude to his learning. Isaac continually scores highly in our weekly spelling tests, reads most evenings and will often get 100% on his reading quizzes and is always the first to move up in any maths challenge. All of this hard work is reflected in his writing. He uses and applies language beyond his years and always produces pieces of writing, which is well thought out and flaunts his creativity and imagination. Isaac will be the first to tell you that I ‘nag’ him about his presentation, and these last few weeks I have noticed a vast difference in this and can tell he is making a real effort! I am very proud of you Isaac. Keep it up!

Miss Simpson

Class 12 – Year 5 – Mya

I have been very impressed with Mya’s attitude to learning recently. She has been working harder and getting involved with class discussions, putting her hand up to contribute regularly. I have been pleased with her efforts in maths and her understanding of fractions and angles. She has been reading at home more often, completing homework and learning her spellings, which has led to better results. Keep it up Mya!

Mr Peck

Class 14 – Year 6 – Kitty

This week’s star of the week in Class 14 is Kitty for writing an absolutely fantastic poem based on ‘Twas the night before Christmas.’ This poem required a mastery of rhythm and rhyme and Kitty rose to the challenge with aplomb, writing 10 verses in one lesson and earning the applause of her classmates and her teacher. Excellent work Kitty – Well-done!
