The Penpol football team went crashing out of the County Cup at the quarterfinal stage but not without putting up a fight.
The home team took the lead against the visiting Roskear through a goal secured by Jake, Class 13. However, Penpol were pegged back immediately before the goals started to fly in for both sides. On the half time whistle the teams were drawing with 4 goals each including a long range effort from Ben and a rare goal for Ethan (both Class 13)
The way the scoreline was going it was clear that the game didn’t suit Penpol’s passing style of play, but the team adapted and continued to attack with purpose. The goals continued to nestle in the each net but it was Ben grabbing his second goal of the game with only moments left that took the quarterfinal to extra time. Unfortunately for the team in blue the next, and last goal went to the away team who now progress to the semi-finals where we wish them the best of luck.
- Jake (x 2) – Class 13
- Ethan (x 1) – Class 13
- Ben (x 2) – Class 13
A special thank you must also go to the fantastic support the team received, including parents, staff and pupils from Classes 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13.
